YOUR CREW. YOUR INFORMATION.
Crew privacy.
How information is used by the YachtCall iPhone and Apple Watch apps, administration portals and connected service platform.
Updated 22 October 2026 · Service contact: support@yachtcall.eu
Your yacht and YachtCall.
Your yacht operator decides who is invited, which yacht and notification groups each person can access, and how rooms and service work are organised. Contact your captain or yacht administrator about those decisions.
YachtCall operates the technical service and provides platform support. Contact the YachtCall service at support@yachtcall.eu for technical or privacy questions. We can help route a request that also needs your yacht operator’s involvement.
Information used by the service.
- Accounts and access: your name, email address, yacht membership, assigned role and notification groups; invitations, account-activation and recovery records; password-verification hashes, multifactor-authentication information and session records.
- Service activity: room and puck assignment, request identifiers, creation and status-change times, the person accepting or completing a request, and any service notes entered by authorised users.
- Devices and delivery: public puck/hardware identifiers, firmware, battery and connectivity status; app-installation identifiers, Apple notification tokens, notification preferences and delivery results.
- Administration and support: changes to accounts, permissions and yacht configuration; audit and security events; support requests and the information you choose to include in correspondence.
- Technical requests: network and request information processed when devices connect to the service, including information needed to provide hosting, authenticate requests and protect the service from misuse.
Yacht administrators may provide your name and email before you activate an account. Apps and pucks then send the operational information needed for the actions you take and the services enabled for your yacht. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in service notes or support messages.
How information is used.
Information supports account sign-in and recovery, access controls, secure puck setup, routing a request to the right yacht and crew group, notification delivery, service history, troubleshooting and the protection of accounts and devices.
YachtCall does not include advertising or cross-app tracking in its crew apps. Service records and operational diagnostics support the requested service and its reliability. They are not used to build advertising profiles.
During puck setup, your iPhone transfers the selected Wi-Fi details to the puck over Bluetooth. The account service does not receive or store your Wi-Fi password. QR scanning and Bluetooth access support that setup; the crew service does not require your photo library, contacts, microphone or precise geographic location.
Who can access information.
Your yacht’s administrators manage its accounts and configuration. Authorised crew can see the requests and information available within their yacht and assigned access. Platform administrators and authorised support staff can access the operational information needed to manage and troubleshoot the service. Access is controlled by account, role and yacht permissions.
The service uses these providers:
- Cloudflare: application and website hosting, database, request delivery, security functions and encrypted backup storage.
- Resend: authorised account invitations, password/recovery messages and related delivery receipts. This includes the recipient address and the message content needed for that email.
- Apple: iPhone/Watch platform services, app distribution and push-notification delivery. Notification delivery involves device tokens and the relevant notification content.
- Support email providers: Cloudflare Email Routing forwards messages sent to our support address to a Google-hosted inbox. Those services process the correspondence you send.
- Telegram: service-health alerts used by YachtCall operators. These operational alerts are separate from crew service notifications.
These services may process information on infrastructure in different countries. This notice does not promise that all records remain in a particular country. Support messages should contain only the information needed to investigate your issue.
Your device settings.
You control camera, Bluetooth and notification permissions through the normal iPhone and Apple Watch settings. Disabling a permission can prevent the associated setup or notification feature. You can open the app to review available service requests even if visible alerts are disabled.
The apps keep session material in device security storage and retain settings and cached service information needed to operate, including a Watch request snapshot. Signing out ends access through that session; it does not erase the server’s request history. The browser portals use session cookies to keep you signed in and protect authenticated actions.
Retention and account access.
Account, request, administration, security and support records are retained to operate the service, preserve service history, investigate problems and protect accounts. Encrypted backups may also retain earlier records. There is no automatic deletion of all account-related records when you sign out, uninstall an app or leave a yacht.
Your administrator can remove your yacht membership and revoke associated access. That action is not deletion of your account, request history, audit records or backups. The crew apps currently provide sign-in for assigned accounts, rather than public self-registration, and do not offer a self-service account-deletion control.
To ask about retention of a particular record, or to request account closure or deletion of personal data, contact us using the process below. We review what can be removed and explain any service-history, security or other record that needs to be retained; this notice does not promise an immediate or universal purge.
Questions, corrections and data requests.
Email support@yachtcall.eu with “Privacy request” in the subject. Tell us the email used for your account, the relevant yacht, and whether you want to ask about, access, correct, close or remove information. You can also contact your yacht administrator about information they manage.
We may need to verify that the request concerns your own account and coordinate with the yacht operator. Do not send a password, authenticator code, recovery code or identity document in an initial message. We will explain any further information needed through the support process.

Website and notice updates.
The public marketing website does not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies. Its demo form prepares an email in your own email app; the website does not submit or store the form details. If you send that email, the receiving mailbox processes the information you choose to share. Hosting providers also process technical requests for website delivery and security.
This page is the crew-service information notice. The marketing website’s separate privacy information is available from its footer. We update this page when the described service or practices change; the date above identifies the current version.
